New heritage collection for Stolen Thunder!

Friday, September 30th, 2011

It has been a busy couple of weeks at Stolen Thunder HQ and we are finally ready to share the excitement with you!

We have introduced our fantastic Thunder Thursdays where every week Stolen Thunder will join with other independent brands to bring you fun competitions. Check out our Facebook page for the latest hook up with London based brand Alphabet Bags.

If you like our current collection of original jewellery then you will love the launch of Stolen Thunders new heritage collection. The handcrafted designs are gold dipped and display intricate detailing and create the perfect finish to any outfit. Each design has a unique and interesting history and I will be sharing my favourite pieces with you each week! We already have a number of cool Brit girls sporting the new collection including the lovely Nicola Roberts. And if you haven’t already explored the heritage collection you can see it all on our website www.stolenthunderboutique.com.

…If this wasn’t enough we have also reinvented our website to bring you a whole new look! Stolen Thunder has teamed up with local photographer Lawrence de Gruchy to create some stunning images of the key heritage pieces including the Wishbone necklace and Rose ring.

We’d love to hear what you think!!

Label Love, first up Alphabet Bags!

Friday, September 30th, 2011
Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend! Fashion Fridays are going to bring to you the best independent British fashion brands in our Label Love feature. So if you are a fashion brand who would like to be featured or have found a must have fashion brand please email me at labellove@stolenthunderboutique.com.

This week our Label Love is Alphabet Bags.

Alphabet Bags was set up by Hayley and Lucas in 2008 and over the past few years they have created a range of fun and quirky bags, card holders, purses and washbags. Alphabet Bags have been featured in a variety of magazines and on celebs such as Una Healy and Alexandra Burke making them a clearly Loved Label!

They offer a range of bags to suit your mood and style! Be it your initial or a slogan, my favourites being ‘geek’ and ‘drama queen’ (not personally linked to me of course *cough*).  So this week buy an Alphabet Bag and make someone smile whilst doing the weekly shop!

See you next Friday!

Quickfire Question Time with Cocoon Vintage . . .

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

NAME: Gelareh Darabi {Ashiberry}

LOCATION: Brighton UK

OCCUPATION: Journalist / TV presenter / Writer/ Blogger / Vintage collector & seller {phew!}

WEBSITE:  www.iheartcocoon.com

TWITTER; @mycocoonvintage

We question Cocoon about her favourite ST pieces, shoes, cocktails and more...

Q – Hello how are you today?

A – I’m great! How are you?

Q- What is your favourite piece from Stolen Thunder’s current collection?

A – I’m smitten with all the lovely owl necklaces, rings and earrings sprinkled throughout this collection. I know owls are very ‘in’ right now, but I’ve been slightly obsessed with them ever since I bumped into one years ago while walking along the forest in my hometown {Vancouver BC}. I must have stood there admiring it for ages. I’ve adored them ever since.

Cocoon vintage picks Stolen Thunder's owl necklace as a must have peice

Q- What outfit would you style up using Stolen Thunder Jewellery? (Stolen Thunder jewellery / clothing / shoes etc!)

A – As much as I love glamming it up once in a while, I’m such an active girl. So, I need statement accessories that add an instant touch to an outfit but that don’t make me feel restricted. I could wear the jersey strand scarf with just about any look, yoga gear, a dainty lace vintage 60s shift dress or even a bikini on the beach!

Q-What is your favourite cocktail, and how many can your drink!?

A – Lately it’s been grandma’s homemade sloe gin & tonic {the gin is actually made by my boyfriend’s grandma}. I’m petite, in other words, cheap date.

Q-Where is your favourite boutique, and what is it called?

A – I stumbled upon a lovely little boutique in Ibiza’s old town called Biscuit. Every item in there was 100% me.

Q-If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

A – The answer to this question changes almost daily. Today I’m yearning for a little flat in the Castro district {San Francisco}. I thrive on individuality, activism and above all good thrifting in a neighbourhood… actually Brighton has all of that.

Q- Who is your style icon?

A –Frida Kahlo & Stevie Nicks. I have a thing for short, vibrant, feisty ladies….

Q – What are your wardrobe essentials?

A – My vintage 70s Afghani caftan, moccasins, denim vests, vintage flowery dresses, tights, ponchos, anything with paisley, vintage boots, blazers that I’ve thrifted from the little boy’s section at charity shops {they always fit me best}

Q – How many pairs of shoes do you own?

A – I’m embarrassed to say, but I have countless pairs of shoes hiding away in various storage lockers, piling up at my parents place and here with me in Brighton; all from my many years of gypsying around.

Q – If you’ve had a bad day L what song will make you smile J again?

A – Fleetwood Mac- Everywhere

Q – Send us a picture from your day –

A – Packed a little picnic. Off on an adventure with my darling Brit.

Q – What would you like to ask Stolen Thunder?

A – Where is the most unlikely of places you’ve found inspiration for your pieces?

A – Stolen Thunder mmmmm Pubs, country walks, and we qute often wake up with ideas!
